No other blind controls the amount of light entering a room a Venetian blind. For a modern look, Venetians are a great choice. But, Venetian blinds also work well in traditional settings and are often used in conservatories. You can use them to block out any unwanted views or you can choose to allow some light through by selecting a perforated slats.
In addition they are made from aluminium; some are made to look like wood whilst our perforated blinds provide some sun screening. You can adjust the amount of light and air that come into a room by controlling the tilt of the slats and the horizontal position of the Venetian blind. The blinds can be raised and lowered by operating cords aided by a tilt roll support and cord lock mechanism. Tilt control is achieved with a transparent mechanism with a transparent acrylic wand and geared tilter. The controls can be located on either side of the blind, together and at either end.
Blinds can be cleaned with a slat cleaning brush or a feather duster. There are choices in the type of slat sizes and some allow light through as in our perforated selection. These blinds come from the Hunter Douglas aluminium slats. They will be made to your exact requirements and can be fitted within a recess of your window or outside the recess. Braids and Scallops can be added to either the fornt, back, or both sides of the blind. All our Scallops are stiffened to form a double layer and have a lathe pocket on the back of the blind. They can be combined with curtains in a traditional interior. Large slats can be teamed up with lined or interlined curtains.
If cost is an issue why not just add side curtains to soften the hard lines.
Slat Guide
16 mm: Very fine, almost invisible when tilted to open position.
25mm: Slim and sophisticated, giving subtle fine lines of colour when open. A very popular choice.
25mm Perforations: Perforations in the slats lets in a soft diffused light.
35mm: The choice in following the trend in wider slats. 50mm: Makes very robust blinds, ideal for very wide windows and big drops.
